I saw a Shadow Person

When I was younger around 15 or so my father and I would do what he called spooking. Going to old graveyards and just walking around in the middle of the night. Nothing ever happened until it did. I remember the graveyard was in NC as we lived there at the time.

We arrived at midnight and just walked around for a few hours. Then around I guess 3AM I noticed something. I had just walked past a grave of a person. The grave was worn down and barely there. I got that tingling in my neck and I looked behind me. Only to see my shadow. And another Shadow. Human shadow. Arms and legs head and all. No person it belonged to. When I moved my shadow moved then the other shadow would move. It was a good 4 feet away from me at all times. The arms and legs visibly moved on the shadow. The longer I looked at the shadow the more fear I felt. As if I was on the run for my life. I screamed for my father only for him to not hear me despite being a few yards away. He says he didn't hear anything despite him having good hearing at the time. Or maybe he was further away then I thought. Also he could have had headphones in. I like to explore all possibilities but I digress.

I began to run and the shadow chased after me full force. I ran faster and so did the shadow. I ran into his truck and slammed the doors. The shadow stood outside the door tilting it's head at me. I don't know how long it was until my father came up to the truck but when he did the shadow vanished. I had seen shadow people before but this wasn't it. What I saw that night was a shadow on the ground without a source. Said shadow moved on it's own. Whatever this thing was I have not seen anything else like it or heard of anything else like it. Maybe it was a trick of the light, I am open to that possibility. Most shadow people are just figures but blacked out or shadows cast on a wall. If anyone has any idea what I saw that night or perhaps have similar stories I would love to hear from you about it. It's been over ten years and I have never heard of any other story like this.
