Dark Figure In The Middle Of The Night

This experience happened in late 2025. I used to live in this small house or rather an outhouse with my partner. I am an insomniac and I have trouble falling asleep on many days for various reasons. So anyways, it was about 2 am when this happened. I was unable to sleep and I was in the living room watching some movie on my laptop. My partner was asleep in the bedroom.

Let me first give a short overview of the environment around the house. So, the living room had this massive couch right next to the window. The window was pretty massive as well. I was sitting on the couch and leaning on a pillow while facing the laptop, which was also on the couch. From the window, I could see the front lawn of the house and the path leading up to the main entrance to the house. There was also this road that curved towards the left side of my view outside. There were many trees and bushes but I could still see the road very clearly. There was also a streetlight towards the curved road and that was the only light.

I was up watching this movie, trying to sleep. I was not one bit sleepy and really really active. The window shutters were open. Then I heard these thuds from outside. It was dark and I thought maybe they were some insects trying to get in, or some raccoons or something and just ignored them. After about 15 minutes the motion sensor light at the front door turned on and there was nothing there and absolutely nobody there. The road was completely deserted. Then it automatically turned off and I found it very weird, but again attributed it to the raccoons. Then out of the blue, I just got this completely eerie feeling - I got goosebumps and started to feel like I'm being watched but there was absolutely nobody outside. Me and my partner were the only two people living there. But I shook it off.

Again after a few minutes the light turned on outside and this time I legitimately felt scared. I thought it could be a burglar trying to get in and got up to turn off the light in the living room. The light outside turned off by itself. As I turned off the light inside the living room and came back to sit on the couch, I saw it. It was for just a few seconds. From the streetlight glow outside I could see a silhouette of this thing. I have absolutely no idea to this day what I saw. It looked like a human woman squatting on the pavement facing the house. It was a bit far from the window because it was almost at the road. I couldn't see any face or any features. All I can say is that it had really really long hair, it was almost behaving like an animal, was on all fours and trying to look inside the window. I couldn't see any eyes or nose or mouth or anything. I was frozen and was absolutely unable to move or speak. Then this thing just crawled away to the side like an animal and I didn't see it again.

It took a solid 2 minutes for me to understand what happened. The very first thing I did was run into the bedroom, get under the bedsheets and I guess I eventually fell asleep somehow. The next day, I told my partner about this and he had no clue what it was either. Thankfully, it hasn't happened again. I have long since moved out of that house. And just to clarify, I know what I saw. It wasn't any kind of hallucination because I didn't see it again.
